On Wednesday, December 27, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Secretariat, Viktor Bondar, introduced Zhytomyr’s newly appointed governor, Yuriy Pavlenko, to the region’s officials, according to the President`s press-office.
Mr. Bondar said Mr. Pavlenko had achieved significant results as Ukraine’s Youth and Sports Minister and said it was one of the reasons of his appointment.
The new governor outlined his first steps. He is going to visit all the companies, factories and social facilities in the region to see how they work and present a detailed program of the oblast’s development within a month.
Mr. Pavlenko met with the local officials and mayors today. He said: “My position is that we must work as one team, with no confrontation.”
He is expected to meet with political factions of the local council on December 28.
