An issue on building modern transport infrastructure and highways complied with European standards in Ukraine has been discussed on concession basis during the meeting of Vice Prime Minister Andriy Klyuyev with Director-General of the French company BOUYGUES Travaux Publics Christian Gazaignes and Chief Executive Officer of VINCI Construction company Pierre Berge, according to the press-office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
According to Andriy Klyuyev, it is necessary to build, reconstruct or repair above 7 thousand km of roads during 5 years in Ukraine. These works are valued approximately at 15 billion euros. “The budget does not provide these funds. Therefore we are interested in investing into development of highways on the grounds of state-private partnership with participation of leading companies”, Vice Prime Minister noted.
Among the top priority objects for building and attracting investments Andriy Klyuyev called a highway ring around Kyiv, building of transport corridor East-West and Kyiv-Vinnytsya highway.
The French companies BOUYGUES Travaux Publics and VINCI Construction are the world leaders in highway building and exploitation.
